The role of international aviation organisations in the context of intensified migration processes

Abstract

The role of international aviation organizations in the conditions of activation of migration processes, which consists in ensuring safe, organized and humanitarian management of air transportation of migrants, is studied. These organizations establish international safety standards, contribute to the fight against illegal migration, provide technical and organizational support to countries in complex crisis situations, and play an important role in the management and regulation of migration processes. Ensuring air transportation of migrants is confirmed by the development and implementation of international standards for the transportation of migrants by air; supporting a border management system that helps detect and process data on migrants and refugees, including those travelling by air; using biometric technologies (for example, facial scanning, fingerprinting) to identify migrants and combat illegal human movement; humanitarian assistance in crisis situations (for example, organising humanitarian flights to transport refugees from dangerous regions to countries ready to receive them); ensuring standards for the safe evacuation of people during armed conflicts, natural disasters or other crisis situations; cooperating with international organisations (for example, UN, UNHCR, IOM) to coordinate air transport of migrants and refugees; combating illegal migration (for example, the implementation of global information exchange systems between states to combat the illegal transportation of people by air; detecting forged documents through standardization of passport and visa procedures. Ensuring the protection of the conditions for the transportation of migrants by air, including access to information on their rights and equal access of migrants to safe transport, even in crisis conditions, and promoting compliance with humanitarian standards for refugees traveling by air demonstrates the commitment of countries to comply with international standards. ICAO's cooperation with IMO, ITU, WMO, IOM on the air transportation of migrants indicates the openness of countries to international support and joint efforts in solving migration problems. The article analyzes the organization and activities of international aviation organizations in the face of modern challenges, including the intensification of migration processes.
