Publishing Ethics

The journal strictly adheres to publishing standards of the COPE Code of Conduct, approved by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The editorial board of the Journal considers that ETHICAL ASPECTS OF PUBLICATION are an important part of editorial work and is responsible for adhering to ethical standards when publishing articles based on academic integrity and the following principles:

– responsibility for making decisions regarding articles submitted for publication in the Journal and which may be published;

– striving to meet the needs of readers and authors of scientific articles;

– continuous improvement of the quality of the Journal;

– ensuring the quality of published material;

– ensuring openness in reflecting the scientific issues of researchers in Ukraine and other countries.

Reviewers of scientific articles undertake to:

– notify the editor-in-chief and destroy or return the materials received if it is impossible to review the materials due to lack of qualifications or time;

– not discuss the materials received for review and the data contained therein, share them with colleagues, or use them for their own interests;

– provide an unbiased assessment of the materials submitted, their relevance to the journal's profile, novelty, relevance, reliability, and the quality of conclusions and data;

– in case of objections, provide substantiated comments supported by references to authoritative sources;

– assess the correctness of citations and the presence of properly formatted bibliographic references, indicate relevant published works that are not referenced in the work;

– report cases of similarities with other works and studies, falsification or plagiarism;

– refrain from participating in the review process if they have close personal or professional ties with the author or co-authors of the article, the organisation where the research was conducted, or if they work for a competing organisation in the same field;

– inform the editor-in-chief of any potential conflicts of interest (political, religious, financial);

– not use information and ideas from the manuscript for personal gain;

Authors of scientific articles undertake to:

– be responsible for the accuracy of facts, proper names, photographic documents, other information and the general content of the article;

– eliminate all shortcomings of the scientific article (if there are comments from the reviewer);

– not to submit an article for publication that essentially describes the same research to more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting an article to more than one journal at the same time is considered unethical behaviour and is unacceptable;

– not to submit previously published articles for consideration to other journals;

– to ensure the originality of the article's content, which does not contain borrowings without appropriate references or prior agreement;

– submit articles that do not contain material that is not subject to publication in the open press, in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, and whose publication will not lead to the disclosure of restricted information (confidential information, state secrets);

– correctly cite the works of other authors;

– ensure that the names of all co-authors of the scientific article are indicated in its text and that no person who is not a co-author is included among them, and also that all co-authors of the scientific article have familiarised themselves with its final version, approved it and given their consent to its publication.

The authors of the materials are fully responsible for the accuracy of the information presented in them, as well as for the compliance of the materials with the norms of legislation, morality and ethics.

The scientific article must meet the requirements for the formatting of articles in the Journal. The editorial board of the Journal publishes the rules for submitting articles, which are regularly updated on the Journal's website.

The main factors influencing the editorial board's decision to publish an article are the verification of the originality of the materials, the relevance of the topic and its significance for researchers and readers.

The editorial board is not responsible for the professional and methodological correctness of the published materials, as well as for the correctness of references to Internet resources and literary sources contained in the text of the article.

If the submitted materials correspond to the purpose, objectives, and editorial policy of the Journal, the editorial board publishes the articles, usually in the author's version; otherwise, the material is rejected.

The editorial board of the Journal does not change its decision regarding accepted materials unless there are serious grounds for doing so.
